My second favorite musical. And sometime in May I'm going to get to go see it with my parents, featuring Ted Neeley in the part of Jesus! Ted Neeley is thee best!

This is supposed to be the farewell tour, but I heard through another fan who met Ted Neeley, that he said it was only being called the farewell tour to get people all hyped up so that they'd get tickets quickly. Apperently Neeley plans to continue touring.

But has anyone else seen this "farewell" tour? I'm curious if it's still completely awesome, since I've heard they no longer put on such an elaborate production with simpler sets and costumes, etc...

I've only seen the film, which didn't make much impression on my to be honest. Thats a bit mean to call it the farewell tour when its not Rolling Eyes

I hope you like it!
My aunt saw the original Autralian production... I never really wanted to see it... tell me how it is. I may have to see it eventually.

I think that here in Italy there's a kind of production of this musical, but I've never see it

(Oh jeez, I didn't realize I'd forgotten to log out, lol!)

JCS WAS MORE THAN WORDS COULD DESCRIBE LAST NIGHT! Ted Neeley took my breath away on more than one account through out the performance. He may be in his 60's or so but he can belt out those high notes just as well as he could back in the 70s. In fact, I snuck in my little voice recorder (sneaking wasn't really neccesary though, since no one checked our purses) and I've got a bit of a bootleg recording here for you all:yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=68C979AF395AB31C

It's Gethsemane.

Keep in mind, this is a very low quality recording and we were up on the balcony. My recorder doesn't hook up to the computer in any way so I had to play in into my voice recorder that I have downloaded onto the computer and processed it through there. But keep your volume at a decent level and you can hear it all well enough. And the parts you can't understand...that's okay, because we couldn't understand it sitting there in the theater either! Lol. Ted really got into it. He has got to be my most favorite singer IN THE WORLD, no questions asked! Ugh, it was one of the best experiences of my life.I love you

I also have this shorter recording of the end of "The Last Supper" between Judas (Corey Glover) and Jesus. Glover hits a good high note in it, too.

I can't possibly rephrase any of that from above! Lol.

Oh,and in my recording of Gethsemane when he screams that last high pitch "NO!" it's a clap of thunder you hear that silences him. At that point in the show it appears as if God is striking him down for refusing to die.

I have a full audio of JCS, the cast is:

Jesus: Steve Balsamo
Judas: Chris Holland
Mary: Kerry Ellis
Pilate: Fred Johanson
Simon: Ramin Karimloo

If you want I can send it to you.

That's alright. I've heard other casts before, but without Ted Neeley I've never found them quite as enjoyable. I dunno...I suppose I wouldn't mind hearing The Last Supper and Gethsemane from it.
